At 1,500 m with no light pollution, the night sky here is extraordinary.
On clear nights we put chairs and blankets out on the lawn after dinner. At around 1,500 m, far from city lights, the night sky above Jaglot is full of stars. Free for guests; bring a warm layer, the nights get cold even in summer.
Before you go
Carry more water than you think you need — the air is very dry.
Sun at altitude is fierce even when it is cold. Hat and sunscreen.
Layers. Mornings can be near freezing and afternoons warm.
Signal is patchy. Tell reception your plan before you leave.
Weather decides. We will tell you honestly the evening before if
conditions mean a trip is not worth doing. Nothing is charged if we call it off.
